Indian businessman Ashneer Grover is the former co-founder and managing director (MD) of the Indian fintech company BharatPe, which he co-founded along with Shashvat Nakrani and Bhavik Koladiya in 2018. Grover also appeared as an investor on the reality TV show called ‘Shark Tank India’.

On June 14, 1982, Ashneer Grover was born in Delhi. His mother was a teacher, while his father worked as a chartered accountant (CA). After completing his elementary schooling in the nation’s capital, he went on to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi to earn a B.Tech. in civil engineering.

He held positions in several companies before founding BharatPe, such as American Express, Grofers, PC Jeweller Ltd., and Kotak Investment Bank. Madhuri Jain Grover, Ashneer’s wife and a successful businesswoman, led the administrative and procurement departments of BharatPe from the company’s founding and functioned as head of control.

The resignation of Ashneer from BharatPe, MD
After learning that the PWC report on his behaviour would be submitted and that decisions would be made based on it, Ashneer Grover tendered his resignation as MD and as a director of the board. Bharatpe’s official statement states that the board may decide to take further measures in response to the report’s conclusions.
Grover left the company on February 28, 2022, both as a board director and as MD. Grover reportedly submitted his resignation to the firm just a few minutes after the board meeting’s agenda regarding the PwC audit report was distributed.
