Dhanush’s Captain Miller soon be on OTT

Dhanush’s much-anticipated film, “Captain Miller,” is all set to make its OTT debut on Feb 9 after a stellar run in cinemas. The film, featuring a power-packed ensemble including Dhanush, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Nassar, Priyanka Mohan, and Nivedhithaa Sathish, is creating quite a buzz.

Following a victorious stint at the box office, “Captain Miller” is gearing up for its OTT premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The streaming giant recently dropped the release date, announcing that audiences can delve into the movie’s world on February 9. In a quirky social media post, Amazon Prime Video tantalizingly asked, ”What makes a soldier go rogue? The answer lies in Miller’s journey.”

Helmed by Arun Matheswaran, this period film marks the maiden collaboration between the National Award-winning Dhanush and the esteemed director. “Captain Miller” promises to be an extravagant Tamil action spectacle.

Captain Miller Collection:

According to box office figures from Sacnilk, the film has amassed an impressive Rs 70 crore, with a substantial chunk coming from its Tamil version.

Overseas collections reached Rs 16 crore, and the Indian box office contributed a commendable Rs 53.8 crore. However, the Hindi version of the film had a bit of a ‘masala’ hiccup, earning a modest Rs 3.09 crore.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1930s and 1940s, the film features Nivedhithaa Sathish, John Kokken, and Moor in pivotal roles.

“Captain Miller” unfolds its narrative in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, catering to a diverse audience. The dialogues for the Tamil version, enriched with the creative magic of Madhan Karky, renowned for his work in the Baahubali franchise, RRR, and Pushpa, add a dash of linguistic spice. Shiva Rajkumar, a big name in the Kannada film industry, takes on the role of Dhanush’s elder brother, adding a touch of ‘desi’ family drama. The musical notes, orchestrated by GV Prakash Kumar for Sathya Jyothi Films, infuse the film with an unmistakable Indian rhythm.

Is Captain Miller’s movie based on a true story?

In an interview with the media in late April, Arun revealed that the film was not about the real-life LTTE rebel Captain Miller.
