Julian Alvarez had a fantastic 24th birthday celebration, scoring two goals as Manchester City easily won 3-1 against Burnley at the Etihad Stadium. This victory bumped City up to second place in the Premier League table.

It was a straightforward match for the champions, with Rodri scoring a third goal. This win marked City’s 13th consecutive victory over Burnley, where they scored an impressive 46 goals and conceded only two. Ameen Al-Dakhil managed to score a late goal for Burnley.

After this win, Manchester City now has 46 points from 21 games, just two points behind the league leaders, Liverpool. Burnley, however, is in a tough spot, second from the bottom and seven points away from safety, having played more games than 17th-placed Luton Town.

Noteworthy moments in the game included Kevin De Bruyne making his first start for City since the opening day of the season and Erling Haaland returning from a 10-game injury absence, coming off the bench for the last 20 minutes.
