By achieving this feat, Virat Kohli surpassed Hyderabad’s powerful wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen to become the top run-scorer in IPL 2024. Back in 2016, Kohli won the Orange Cap for being the highest run-scorer, and this season, he’s aiming to do it again.

Virat’s Record in IPL 2024

Kohli broke several records, including surpassing AB de Villiers to become the player with the most sixes for Bengaluru, reaching 239 sixes. He also smashed his 240th six in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore, surpassing Chris Gayle. This achievement makes him the batter with the most sixes in IPL history.

The 35-year-old cricketer now has 101 scores of fifty runs or more in T20 cricket, which is the shortest format of the game. He’s the first Indian and the third player globally to achieve this milestone. Chris Gayle is at the top with the most fifty-plus scores (110), followed by David Warner (109).
